Who the Yamaha R15 suits

The R15 is for confident manual riders who care about how the ride feels. It is at its best on open, flowing roads: the coast road to Da Nang, the climb up Son Tra and the Hai Van Pass.

It has real downsides, so here they are. The leaning position loads your wrists and gets tiring on long days. The rear seat is small, and the bike is not much fun at walking pace in Old Town traffic. If you mostly stay in town or want comfort, the upright Yamaha XS155R costs the same. If you have never used a clutch, take an automatic such as the Yamaha NVX 155.

You can leave your luggage at our shop while you ride, which helps, because a fairing and a small seat leave little room for bags.

Dragon Bridge, Da Nang — 27.2 km, about 46 minutes along the coast road
Linh Ung Pagoda, Son Tra Peninsula — 33.7 km, about 1 hour; the switchbacks up Son Tra suit a sport bike well

How much does the Yamaha R15 cost to rent in Hoi An?

From 450,000₫ per day. Rentals of 7 days or more get 10% off and 30 days or more get 30% off. We confirm the final price by message before you ride.

Is the R15 a good bike for the Hai Van Pass?

Yes, if you are comfortable on a manual sport bike. It has power for the climbs and engine braking for the way down. The leaning position gets tiring on long days, so plan a few stops.

Can I learn to ride a manual on the R15?

We advise against learning manual in Vietnamese traffic. If you have never used a clutch, take an automatic scooter instead and enjoy the trip.

Can two people ride the R15?

It carries a passenger, but the rear seat is small and sits high, so it is better for short rides. For two-up day trips, the Yamaha XS155R or an automatic such as the NVX 155 is more comfortable.

R15 or XS155R?

Both cost 450,000₫ a day. The R15 is the sport bike with a low, leaning position. The XS155R is a retro bike with an upright position that is easier on your wrists and back.

What licence do I need for the R15?

A full motorbike licence that covers bikes over 125cc, plus an IDP under the 1968 convention. An A1-type licence is not enough for a 155cc bike.

Can you deliver the R15 to my hotel?

Yes. Hotel delivery in Hoi An starts from 30,000₫, every day from 07:00 to 21:00. Picking it up at 84 Phan Chau Trinh is free.

You must hold a valid driving licence applicable to the vehicle category you are renting. No license is required for electric bikes and 50cc models.
Minimum age to rent: 18 years old.
You are responsible for all traffic fines, penalties, and violations incurred during the rental period.
Wearing a helmet is mandatory at all times while riding.
Riding under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.
You must not sub-rent, lend, or transfer the motorbike to any third party.
The motorbike must be kept safe and securely locked when not in use.

Please inspect the motorbike thoroughly before departure and report any existing damage to our staff.
No modifications, alterations, or tampering with the motorbike are permitted.
Off-road use is not permitted unless the model is specifically designed for it.
The motorbike must be used for personal transportation purposes only.
You are responsible for fuel costs during the rental period, unless the Full Tank add-on is selected. Electric bikes: battery swaps at our shop are always free.

Free self-pickup at our office: 84 Phan Chau Trinh, Hoi An.
Hotel / door delivery is available for 30,000 VND within Hoi An city.
Delivery and pickup hours: 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM daily.
The motorbike must be returned at the agreed location and time.
Late returns are charged at one additional rental-day rate per 24 hours overdue.
Please notify us at least 2 hours in advance if you need to change your return time or location.

Full payment is required at the time of pickup.
A security deposit of 2,000,000 VND (or a copy of your passport) is required.
The deposit is fully refunded upon return of the motorbike in the same condition.
No refund is given for early returns, unless agreed upon in advance.
Accepted payment methods: cash (VND) or bank transfer.

You are financially responsible for all damage to the motorbike, regardless of fault.
In the event of an accident, contact us immediately before making any payment to police or third parties.
Do not admit liability or pay any fine or compensation without first consulting us.
Motorbike insurance (if purchased) covers partial repair costs — refer to insurance terms for details.
In the event of theft or total loss, the replacement cost will be charged to you.
Minor scratches and normal wear are exempt; significant damage will be assessed and charged at cost of repair.
