Why Choose hoianit.com

Five concrete promises behind every rental — plus the honest list of who we are not the right shop for. This is why choose hoianit.com over the place next door.

High-quality bikes, checked before every ride

The fleet runs to 300+ scooters, semi-automatics, manuals and e-bikes. Each one is serviced on a schedule and passes a 20-point check before it goes out — brakes, tyres, lights, horn, chain tension, battery, papers under the seat. Every bike carries a number on the leg shield, and that number is how we track what has been done to it and when.

You get a bike built for the mix Hoi An actually throws at you: narrow old-town lanes at walking pace, then the coast road at 50 km/h. Two quality helmets, a raincoat and a phone holder come with it as standard, not as paid extras. The full list of what is checked is on our story page.

A semi-auto and an automatic side by side. Most first-timers should be on the one on the right; people who want the Hai Van Pass usually want the one on the left.

Delivery to your door, priced up front

Hotel, homestay or Airbnb — we bring the bike to you, walk you through it there, and collect it when you are done. No hunting for the shop on arrival day, no riding across town on checkout morning with a bag on your knees.

Delivery is charged, and we publish exactly what it costs rather than adding it at the counter. It starts at 20.000₫ for the nearest places and runs to 170.000₫ for the far south of the beach strip; the city centre sits at 30.000₫. The fee is per delivery, not per bike, and it covers both the drop-off and the collection. Every one of the 33 hotels and resorts we deliver to most often is listed by name with its price on the delivery fee page.

Collecting the bike from the shop yourself is free. We are at 84 Phan Chau Trinh, two minutes from the edge of the pedestrian zone — if you are walking past anyway, skip the fee entirely.

Roadside support that actually shows up

Flat tyre at the beach. Battery low halfway to the rice paddies. Chain off on the way back from My Son at nine at night. Call or message any hour on +84 766 766 087 — the roadside line is answered around the clock while you have one of our bikes.

Typical response is 15–30 minutes around Hoi An and 1–2 hours in the nearby cities. If the bike cannot be fixed where it stands, we bring a replacement and take the broken one away. You do not pay for the recovery and you do not pay for the swap.

Rental scooters and riders on a busy street in Hoi An old town
Ordinary traffic in the old quarter. Most call-outs are not dramatic — a flat tyre, a dead battery, someone who took a wrong turn and ran the tank dry.

A team you can actually talk to

Staff speak good English, plus Korean, Japanese and Chinese. Licence questions, route advice and what-ifs get sorted in minutes on WhatsApp instead of getting lost in translation at a counter.

Ask where locals actually eat, which paddy road looks best this month, or whether a route is a bad idea in this week’s weather. The riding map we hand over is drawn from years of living here. And if a plan is wrong for the bike or the rider, we say so before the keys change hands — which costs us a rental now and then.

Honest pricing, easy booking

The price you see is the price you pay. Fuel for the first litre is in it, helmets are in it, unlimited mileage is in it. There is no cleaning fee, no paperwork fee, and no fuel surcharge on return.

Two things are charged separately and both are published: delivery outside the shop, and anything you break. We also do not hold your passport — a photo of it is all we need, which is a small thing until you are the one whose passport is in a stranger’s drawer.

What “included” actually means

Every rental shop in town says “helmet included”. Here is the itemised version of ours, so you can compare like for like.

The helmet shelf. Two go out with every bike, and the small sizes at the back are the reason families keep coming back to us.

Why choose hoianit.com over a cheaper shop

There are places on the same street renting for less, and we are not going to pretend they are all bad. Plenty of travellers have a fine week on a 60K bike. What the difference buys is worth stating plainly rather than hinting at.

If your whole trip is three flat kilometres around the Ancient Town, the cheap option may genuinely be the right one. If you are riding to My Son, over the Hai Van Pass, or with a child on the back, that is when the difference stops being theoretical.

A PCX, the bike people book when they want a bigger, heavier automatic for long days. It needs a licence, like everything over 50cc.

Who we are not the right shop for

The honest half of any “why choose us” page. If you are one of these, please book somewhere else — it saves us both a bad afternoon.

Riders without a licence who want something over 50cc. We will not do it. Not a policy we invented: it is what the law and every insurer require, and an uninsured accident is not a risk we hand to a guest. A 50cc or an e-bike needs no licence and we will happily sort you out with one.

Anyone looking for the cheapest number in town. We are not it and we do not try to be.

People who want a tour, a shuttle bus or a private car. We do not run any of those. Where our guides compare a bus to riding yourself, we are not selling the bus — we do not operate one.

Everything else, from a half-day pootle around Tra Que to a one-way run over the pass to Hue, is what we are built for.

Why choose hoianit.com if you have never ridden before

Roughly a third of the people who rent from us have never been on a scooter. That group needs different things from a shop than a confident rider does, and it is the group most likely to have a bad first day somewhere else.

What we do differently for first-timers: we put you on a 50cc or an electric bike, which needs no licence and is far more forgiving than a 125cc. We take you for a slow lap of a quiet lane behind the shop before you leave, not a wave from the counter. We tell you which routes to skip on day one — the coast road is fine, the old town at 5pm is not. And if you decide after ten minutes that riding is not for you, bring it back and we will not charge you for the day.

If you would rather learn properly first, we run beginner lessons in the evenings between 17:30 and 20:00, when the roads are quiet. Most people need one session.

That is the short version of why choose hoianit.com when you are nervous: the risk of a bad first ride is the thing we spend the most effort removing.

FAQ: why choose hoianit.com

Is Anh Khoa the best motorbike rental in Hoi An?
Anh Khoa is consistently rated the #1 motorbike rental in Hoi An on Tripadvisor, with 1,000+ five-star reviews and the Travellers Choice 2026 award. We run the largest fleet in town at 300+ bikes, three locations and 15+ years of experience.
What is included in the rental price at Anh Khoa?
Every rental includes two quality helmets, a phone holder, raincoats, 1 litre of fuel, unlimited mileage and 24/7 roadside assistance. Hotel delivery and collection is charged separately from 20.000₫ and every price is published per hotel. There are no other fees.
Do I need a licence to rent a motorbike from Anh Khoa?
For 50cc bikes and electric bikes, no licence is required. For 110cc and above you need a Vietnamese licence or an International Driving Permit issued under the 1968 Vienna Convention. We help you pick the right bike for your situation.
How quickly can Anh Khoa deliver a motorbike to my hotel?
Typically within 15 minutes to any hotel, hostel or guesthouse inside Hoi An. WhatsApp or call +84 935 206 306, or message Zalo on 0935 439 306. Delivery is charged from 20.000₫ and the price for your hotel is on our delivery fee page.
Can I do a one-way rental from Hoi An to Hue or Da Nang?
Yes. We run one-way rentals from Hoi An to Hue over the Hai Van Pass and from Hoi An to Da Nang, with drop-off at our partner points. The first two bags travel separately at no extra cost, and the reverse direction is available too.
Why choose hoianit.com over a cheaper shop next door?
Because of what happens after the keys change hands: a 20-point check before every ride, a roadside line answered at any hour, published delivery prices, and a photo of your passport instead of the passport itself. For a short flat ride around the Ancient Town a cheaper shop may suit you fine.
