Best Tailors in Hoi An: The Top 10, Ranked (2026 Guide)
How this list is ordered: by how many real reviews each shop has earned on Google and Tripadvisor, not by who pays commission. Every address and phone number was re-checked in July 2026. We also dropped a shop that previous versions of this guide ranked second — the reason is explained below. Anh Khoa rents motorbikes, not clothes. Nobody paid to be on this list.
Hoi An has somewhere around 400 tailors, and the gap between the best and the worst is enormous. The best tailors in Hoi An have thousands of reviews and a real workshop behind the shopfront; the worst are a rail of samples and a commission deal with your hotel. Here is how to tell which one you are standing in.
The town has been stitching for foreigners since it was a Silk Road port, and the modern version — walk in Monday, fly out Wednesday wearing a suit that fits — is genuinely one of travel’s better deals. But it has also become the single most touted trade in Vietnam, and the number of people who go home disappointed is not small.
So this guide does two things: it ranks the shops that thousands of other travellers have actually vouched for, and it is honest about when Hoi An tailoring is not worth your money.

One removal, stated plainly. Earlier versions of this guide ranked Diem Diem at number two as a “best tailor in Hoi An”. On re-checking, the business is registered and signposted as Diem Diem Travel & Clothes Shop — a travel agency that also sells clothes — not a tailoring workshop, and it has no meaningful review base as a tailor. There is also a public Tripadvisor complaint about touting from that address.
We could not verify it as a top-ten tailor, so it is gone. If you have had a good experience there, that is genuinely fine — but we are not going to rank a shop we cannot stand behind.
Addresses look different now. On 1 July 2025 Quảng Nam province merged into Đà Nẵng City and Hội An stopped existing as a separate city. The Ancient Town is now Hội An Ward; Cẩm Châu and Cửa Đại are Hội An Đông; Cẩm An, Thanh Hà and Tân An are Hội An Tây.
Nearly every tailor guide online — and several tailors’ own websites — still print “Minh An Ward, Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province”. Street numbers did not change, so Google Maps and taxi drivers are unaffected. Use the new ward names only for shipping labels and forms.

Kimmy Tailor
Best all-rounderNearly 8,000 Tripadvisor reviews at 4.8 is the most convincing number in Hoi An tailoring, and Kimmy has been at it for over a decade. It is the safest first stop if you do not want to think too hard: broad range, English that actually works, and a fitting process that assumes you will want changes rather than acting wounded when you ask.
They publish their own testimonials and run an online ordering service, which tells you something — a shop happy to be judged on the record is usually a shop that gets it right. Not the cheapest, not trying to be.
Ba Ri Tailor — Suit in Hoi An
Best if you’re in a hurryA perfect 5.0 across more than 11,000 reviews on both platforms is close to statistically absurd, and Ba Ri gets it by being ruthlessly good at one thing: speed without a quality collapse. Reviewers describe suits finished in six or seven hours and full orders done inside 24.
If you have landed in Hoi An with one night and a wedding to dress for, start here. Two branches on Lê Lợi, both in the walkable centre.
45 Thu Tailor
Most-reviewed tailor in town13,000 Google reviews at a flat 5.0 makes 45 Thu the most-reviewed tailor in Hoi An by some distance. The Tripadvisor score is a shade lower at 4.8, which if anything makes the picture more believable.
Expect around $250 for a suit — mid-to-upper for Hoi An. They take online appointments, which is worth using in April–August when the shop is genuinely busy. The name confuses people: it is at number 06 Hoàng Diệu, not 45.
Bebe Tailor
Biggest fabric rangeBebe stakes its reputation on holding the largest fabric collection in Hoi An, and for anyone who cares about the cloth rather than just the cut, that is the difference between a suit you wear and a suit you tolerate. Well over 7,000 Tripadvisor reviews back it up.
Multiple branches, a proper website, and 15,000 followers on Facebook — this is one of the town’s established operations rather than a shopfront that appeared last season.
Blue Eye Tailor
Best for men’s suitsOver 6,000 reviews at a clean 5.0, and the name that keeps surfacing unprompted in Reddit threads and Facebook groups when someone asks where to get a suit made — usually from people who admit they walked in sceptical.
Menswear is the strength. Lê Lợi puts it a two-minute walk from Ba Ri and Peace, so this stretch is the efficient place to compare three serious shops in half an hour.
Blue Chic Tailor
15+ years, very consistentFifteen years in business and 5.0 from over five thousand people. The reviews are dull in the best way — no drama, no rescue stories, just garments that arrived when promised and fitted. One reviewer describes a job finished “in barely 24 hours”.
Nguyễn Thái Học is the prettiest street in the Ancient Town and pedestrianised in the evening, so this is an easy one to fold into dinner.
Peace Tailor
Quiet, no sales pressureFour thousand reviews at 5.0, and the recurring theme is what does not happen: nobody follows you down the street, nobody upsells you a third suit, nobody makes you feel rude for leaving. In a town where the hard sell is the default, that is a real feature.
Worth knowing there is also a separate “Peace Cloth Shop” nearby — different business. You want number 06 Lê Lợi.
Yaly Couture
Best premium / formalwearThe biggest tailoring brand in Hoi An — three branches and reportedly over 300 tailors. It is also the most expensive name on this list, and reviewers are refreshingly blunt about it: “expensive for Hoi An, but if you go you’ll understand why.”
That is the correct way to think about Yaly. For a wedding outfit or a suit you will still wear in five years, the premium is defensible. For beach linen, it is not. Note the branches score differently — Exclusive and Signature both sit at 4.9, the Nguyễn Duy Hiệu store at 4.6, so pick your branch deliberately rather than walking into whichever you pass.
Two Ladies Tailor (Hai Cô Gái)
Best for womenswearPerfect 5.0 on both platforms. Two Ladies has quietly become the shop women recommend to other women — dresses and women’s suits are the specialism, and the reviews are full of people who brought a Pinterest screenshot and got the thing in the screenshot.
Smaller than the Hoàng Diệu giants, which is the point: you deal with the same person from measurement to final fitting. WhatsApp them a photo before you arrive and the first appointment gets a lot shorter.
A Dong Silk
The old-school classicTrading since 1997 and still one of the three names every guide lists, A Dong built its reputation on 24-hour tailoring back when that was remarkable rather than standard. Suits and shirts are the strength.
Its Google score sits lower than the newer stars, which is what happens when a shop accumulates two decades of reviews including the early ones. Judge it on the recent ones. Two branches, both central.

On Pink Lotus and Custom Tailory. Both have small review counts, and that is not a criticism — they are small shops. Pink Lotus (85 Phan Chu Trinh) runs its own dedicated workshop rather than subcontracting, which for a one-day order matters more than a big number does. Custom Tailory (117 Phan Chu Trinh) quotes a men’s three-piece under 2,100,000₫ (~$90) and a simple women’s dress around 1,650,000₫ (~$74) — among the more transparent pricing in town.

Ranges below are what the established shops actually charge in 2026, gathered from shop pricing pages and recent traveller reports. The spread is wide because fabric drives the price, not the label over the door.

The number that matters most: under roughly $80, a “wool” suit is not wool. It is polyester or a blend with a tiny wool percentage, it will not breathe, and it will look like exactly what it cost the first time you sweat in it. If your budget is $80, buy a beautiful linen shirt and trousers instead of a bad suit — you will wear them more.
How many days do you actually need?
Every shop in town will tell you 24 hours. That is true and also misleading — 24 hours gets you a garment, but it rarely gets you the right garment, because a first fitting almost always finds something.

Order on your first day, not your last. It is the single most useful sentence in this guide. Travellers who order on the way out of town are the ones who post the disappointed reviews — not because the shop was bad, but because there was no time to fix anything.
Is Hoi An tailoring still worth it? An honest answer
Ask on Reddit and you will find a thread titled “Hoi An tailors seem like a tourist trap?” with sixty-odd replies, and a fair few of them agree. That is worth taking seriously rather than pretending it does not exist.
The honest position: Hoi An tailoring is excellent at the top and mediocre in the middle, and the middle has grown. Volume tourism returned faster than skilled tailors did, so a lot of shopfronts now sell what is essentially fast fashion with a measuring tape as theatre. The shops with 5,000+ reviews are not on this list by accident — they are the ones that survived on results.
It is worth it if: you have at least two days, a budget above ~$100 for anything structured, a clear idea or a photo, and you use a shop with a long review history.
It is not worth it if: you have one afternoon, want a wool suit for $60, are picking the shop your driver recommended, or expect Savile Row. Hoi An makes very good clothes very fast for the money. It does not make miracles, and a shop that promises one is telling you something.
How to avoid touts and commission traps
This is the part most guides skip, because most guides are published by someone taking the commission.
How the trap works: hotel staff, drivers, and people who strike up a friendly conversation on the street get paid a cut — commonly 10–30% — for delivering you to a specific shop. That commission does not come out of the shop’s margin. It comes out of your garment: cheaper lining, thinner cloth, less time at the bench, same price.
- Nobody good needs to find you. A shop with 11,000 reviews is not sending someone to chat you up by the Japanese Bridge. If you are approached, that is a sales cost being loaded onto your suit.
- Choose before you land, or at least before you leave your hotel. Pick two shops from this list, walk to them, compare. Thirty minutes.
- “My friend/cousin has a shop” — from a driver, a guide, or a new acquaintance — is the oldest line in town. Decline pleasantly and go where you were going.
- Ask to see the workshop. The real ones will show you. A shop that cannot produce a single sewing machine is a middleman.
- Check the name character by character. Successful shops get imitators with near-identical signage a few doors down. Peace Tailor and Peace Cloth Shop are different businesses; 45 Thu is at number 06.
Getting to your fittings
Nearly every tailor here sits on one of three streets — Lê Lợi (Ba Ri, Blue Eye, Peace, Lana, Thu Thuy, A Dong), Trần Hưng Đạo (Kimmy, Two Ladies, Tuong, A Dong, Nhat Silk, Shine) and Hoàng Diệu (45 Thu, Bebe). All three are walkable from the Ancient Town, which makes tailoring one of the few Hoi An activities that needs no transport at all.
The friction is the return trips. A proper order means going back two or three times over two or three days, usually at whatever hour the shop says the garment is ready — and if you are staying out at An Bàng, Cửa Đại or anywhere in Hội An Đông, that is four or six separate journeys into the centre. That is where people quietly abandon the second fitting and end up with a jacket that almost fits.
Two practical notes before you ride in:
- The Ancient Town closes to vehicles at set hours. Trần Hưng Đạo stays open, but Lê Lợi and Nguyễn Thái Học fall inside the pedestrian zone for much of the day and all evening — check the current Hoi An Old Town vehicle restriction hours and park at the edge.
- Pair it with the town’s other custom trade. While the jacket is being cut, the best jewelry shops in Hoi An are on the same three streets, and several will make you a ring in the same 48 hours.
