Why order from a Hoi An flower shop rather than an app
Hoi An is small enough that flowers are still a face-to-face business here. There is no national delivery app that works properly in the Ancient Town: the lanes inside the walking zone are closed to cars for most of the day, half the homestays have no street number that a driver from outside town would recognise, and a courier who has never been to An Bang will spend forty minutes finding a beach villa that we could walk to.
That is the practical argument for ordering from a Hoi An flower shop that is actually in Hoi An. We build the arrangement in the workshop at 84 Phan Chau Trinh on the morning it goes out, we ride it over ourselves, and we hand it to a person rather than leaving it at a gate. If nobody is there, we call you before we leave anything with reception.
The other argument is the flowers themselves. A shop that sells what came off the truck this morning has a different stock list every week, which is why we send photo options instead of a catalogue. You tell us a number and an occasion — “500k, birthday, she likes pink” — and two or three real bouquets come back to you within minutes, built from whatever is freshest that day. It almost always beats picking blind from a grid of stock photos.

Prices are for the finished arrangement: wrapped, tied and with a handwritten card. Delivery is separate — 70,000₫ inside Hoi An and 120,000₫ to Da Nang, charged once per address rather than per bouquet.

Two things worth knowing before you set a budget. First, the price is driven by the flowers inside, not by the size of the wrapping — a 450,000₫ bouquet of seasonal gerberas and eustoma looks considerably bigger than a 450,000₫ bouquet of imported roses. Tell us which matters more to you and we will build accordingly. Second, USD figures on this page are approximate and for guidance only; you pay in Vietnamese đồng, and the product pages always show the current price.
Where the flowers come from: Da Lat, 606 km south
Almost every fresh flower sold in central Vietnam starts in the same place. Da Lat, up in the Lam Dong highlands at around 1,500 m, is the country’s flower farm: roughly 9,000 hectares under flowers, about 30% of Vietnam’s total flower-growing area, producing something in the order of 3.1 billion stems a year, according to figures published by Vietnam’s state news agency in 2021. The cool nights are what make it work — roses, lilies, gerberas, carnations and hydrangeas all behave better there than anywhere at sea level in this country.
Da Lat is 606 km from Hoi An by road, about nine and a half hours on the North–South Expressway (CT01), measured door to door on Google Maps. Cut flowers travel overnight: cut and packed in the afternoon in Lam Dong, on the road through the night, unloaded in Da Nang and Hoi An early the next morning. That single fact explains most of what a Hoi An flower shop can and cannot promise you.
- Same-day is real, but it has a clock on it. What we can build today is what arrived this morning. That is why the cut-off is 16:00 — after that we are working from what is left.
- Specific flowers need a day’s notice. If you want tulips, peonies or a particular colour of rose, tell us the day before and it goes on tomorrow’s order. Ask at 3pm for something exact and you may get a polite no.
- Weather in the highlands shows up in your bouquet. A bad week in Da Lat means thinner stock and higher prices in Hoi An about two days later. We will tell you when that is happening rather than quietly substituting.
- Imported blooms are the exception. Roses and tulips also come in through Ho Chi Minh City from Ecuador, Kenya and the Netherlands. They cost more and last longer, and we keep some on hand for premium orders.
What to give, and the one flower never to give
This is the part visitors most often get wrong, and it is the question we are asked most across the counter. Vietnamese flower symbolism does not map onto European or American habits, and one mistake in particular is easy to make and genuinely awkward to receive.
The same caution applies to white arrangements in general. White is the colour of mourning in Vietnam, so a pure-white bouquet that would be elegant at a European wedding can land badly at a Vietnamese birthday. Red, pink and orange are the celebratory colours; if you want something pale and soft, we will build it around cream, blush and peach rather than pure white.
Every week someone asks for white chrysanthemums for a birthday because they look beautiful in the bucket. We always say the same thing, and we always get thanked for it afterwards.
Two more things worth knowing. Lotus, the national flower, is seasonal — roughly May to August — and carries a quiet, respectful meaning rather than a romantic one; it is a lovely gift for an older relative and an odd one for a partner. And if you are sending sympathy flowers to a Vietnamese family and are unsure what is customary, just ask us. We will tell you plainly what is expected, what colour the ribbon should be and what to write on it. Nobody minds the question.

Something bright that photographs well
The most common order we get, and usually the easiest — tell us the person’s favourite colour and we take it from there. If it is going to a restaurant for a dinner, we can deliver it to the restaurant instead so it is waiting on the table when they sit down.
14 February, 8 March and 20 October
These three dates are the busiest of our year, and they are the only days when we ask you to plan ahead. Vietnam has two Women’s Days — International Women’s Day on 8 March and Vietnamese Women’s Day on 20 October — and both are taken seriously enough that the whole country buys flowers on the same morning.
Bridal bouquets and ceremony flowers
Bridal bouquets, buttonholes, car flowers and arrangements for the ceremony and reception. Talk to us at least a week out for a wedding so we can order specific flowers in from Da Lat rather than working with whatever arrived that morning.
Funeral flowers and wreaths
White and cream arrangements appropriate for a Vietnamese funeral, including standing wreaths. If you are abroad and unsure what is customary here, ask — we will tell you plainly what is expected and what to write on the ribbon.

A hands-on class in our shop: the basics of colour, balance and composition, then you build your own bouquet or centrepiece with a florist guiding each step. We talk through what different flowers mean in Vietnamese culture and where they show up in the year — the chrysanthemum rule above is usually the part people remember.
All materials are included and you take your arrangement home with you. It works well as a rainy-afternoon activity, a couples’ thing, or a small group booking; private sessions can be arranged. Message us for dates and pricing.
Ordering from abroad
A large share of our English-language orders come from people outside Vietnam sending flowers to someone staying in Hoi An — a partner on holiday, a parent on a tour, a colleague at a conference. You do not need a Vietnamese phone number or a Vietnamese bank account to do it.

Walk-ins are welcome and you are not obliged to buy anything. If you are staying nearby it is often easier to come and point at a bucket than to describe a colour over a message, and we can wrap something for you while you wait. The same counter is where the Hoi An flower shop orders, the rental keys and the workshop bookings all get handled, so do not be surprised to see a helmet on the table next to the eustoma.

How much is delivery?
70,000₫ anywhere in Hoi An — the Ancient Town, An Bang Beach, Cua Dai, Cam Nam and the surrounding areas — and 120,000₫ to Da Nang. The fee is charged once per delivery address, not per bouquet, and it is added automatically at checkout. Same-day delivery is available for orders placed before 16:00.
What types of flowers do you carry?
Fresh roses, sunflowers, lilies, orchids, tropical arrangements and seasonal blooms trucked up from Da Lat, alongside international imports. Custom bouquets for weddings, birthdays and anniversaries are made to order. Stock changes with what arrives each morning, so we send photo options rather than asking you to pick from a fixed catalogue.

Yes, to every hotel, resort and homestay in Hoi An. Give us the property name and room number, or the recipient’s name and phone, and we coordinate the handover with reception. If it is a surprise, tell us and we will not call the recipient in advance.
How much does a bouquet cost?
From 180,000₫ (about $7). The size most people choose is 450,000–700,000₫, and premium arrangements with imported roses or tulips run from 700,000₫ upward. The price reflects the flowers inside rather than the size of the wrapping, so tell us your budget and we will show you what it actually buys.
Which flowers should I avoid giving in Vietnam?
Chrysanthemums, above all. In Vietnam they belong to ancestral rites and funerals, so they are a poor choice for a birthday or a romantic gesture. Pure-white arrangements carry the same association, because white is the colour of mourning here. Red, pink and orange are the celebratory colours — and if you want something soft, cream and blush read as warm rather than funereal.
Do you run flower arrangement classes?
Yes — a 2–3 hour workshop in the shop where you build your own bouquet with a florist guiding you. All materials are included and you take your arrangement home. Groups and private sessions can be arranged; message us for dates and pricing.
Can I pay from another country?
Yes. PayPal works from anywhere and you never need a Vietnamese bank account or phone number. If the flowers are not a surprise, the recipient can also pay cash on delivery. You get a photo of the bouquet before it leaves and a photo of the handover afterwards.
How far ahead should I order for 8 March or 20 October?
Two or three days, ideally. Those two Women’s Days and Valentine’s Day are the busiest of the year for every Hoi An flower shop, fresh stock genuinely runs out, and rose prices climb sharply in the week beforehand. Ordering early costs less and gets you a better bouquet.
