LK02: The Main Hoi An to Da Nang Bus Route
First, clear up the yellow bus confusion. Plenty of guides still describe the LK02 as “the yellow bus”. It is not. The yellow bus is the older route 01, which runs from Da Nang Central Bus Station along the coast road to Hoi An bus station and charges 20,000–35,000 VND. The LK02 is the newer service Phuong Trang launched in April 2024: orange 24–26 seat minibuses with automatic doors, air conditioning, free Wi-Fi and onboard cameras, running Viet Han University in Da Nang to Cua Dai in Hoi An. Same corridor, different bus, and roughly half the fare.

Launched on 30 April 2024 as part of the Da Nang public bus network, the LK02 is operated by Phuong Trang (FUTA Bus Lines) — not a separate company, as many older guides suggest. Buses are modern 24–26 seaters with air-conditioning, free Wi-Fi, CCTV and automatic doors. Fares are fixed and posted on board, so the overcharging tricks of the old tourist-bus days are gone.

- Luggage fee: travellers report 8,000–13,000 VND per large bag on top of the ticket — not on every bus and not with every conductor, but budget for it
- Going all the way into central Da Nang can mean changing at VKU onto city route 02 (about 16,000 VND), depending on the service you catch
Bus No. 01: the older yellow bus — check before you rely on it
Most guides still describe a yellow Bus No. 01 running from Da Nang Central Bus Station to Hoi An bus station for 20,000–35,000 VND. That was the picture before April 2024. Since 26 April 2024, Phuong Trang (FUTA Bus Lines) has operated the LK02 described above, and the LK02 — not route 01 — is the service travellers actually board today.
Do not plan around route 01 without checking. If a page, a hotel desk or an older forum post gives you a route 01 timetable, confirm it at the stop or with the driver on the day. The figures circulating online (05:30–17:50, every 20–30 minutes, 20,000–35,000 VND) all pre-date the LK02 launch and we have not been able to verify them for 2026.
The practical takeaway: if your hotel is near the Han River, Da Nang Cathedral or the train station, you are not at either end of the LK02. Take a Grab or a short city bus hop out to the VKU (Viet Han University) stop on Tran Dai Nghia and pick up the LK02 there, or skip the transfer altogether and ride — see section 09.

Besides operating the LK02, Phuong Trang also runs hourly air-conditioned coaches between central Da Nang and Hoi An for travellers who want guaranteed seats and more luggage space.

Limousine vans and private cars
Above the coaches sit the nine-seat limousine vans that shuttle between the two towns all day. They cost around 180,000 VND a seat, take about 45 minutes, and — the real difference — drop you at an address rather than a roadside stop. Common Da Nang drop-off points are 221 Vo An Ninh, 233 Nguyen Van Thoai and 38 Nguyen Tri Phuong; ask which one is nearest your hotel before you book, because the wrong one adds a Grab ride at the end.
A whole private car is the other end of the scale: roughly 350,000–450,000 VND one way for up to four people with luggage, or a little more from the airport, booked through your hotel, a platform, or Grab. For two people it costs about the same as two limousine seats plus taxis, so it is usually the better deal once you are travelling as a pair with bags. Can You Take the Bus to Da Nang Airport?
There is no direct public bus between Hoi An and Da Nang Airport. The LK02 and Bus No. 01 both end several kilometres from the terminals, so you would need a 10–15 minute Grab ride (60,000–80,000 VND) on top — risky with a flight to catch. For flights, a door-to-door airport shuttle from Hoi An is faster and barely more expensive, or ride yourself with a one-way scooter rental to Da Nang.
