Da Nang Airport to Hoi An by private car
This is the run most people book a Hoi An private car for. We measured it on Google Maps on 26 October 2026: 28.1 km, about 52 minutes from Da Nang International Airport to our shop at 84 Phan Chau Trinh via the coast road (DT607), or 29.6 km inland on QL1A. A pre-booked driver usually waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign, so send your flight number when you book; a good operator tracks the flight and waits if it lands late.
Grab and Xanh SM both work at the airport and are often the cheapest choice for one or two people with normal luggage. Pre-book when you land very early or very late, travel with children who need seats, or need a 7-seat car for a group: those are the cases where an app can leave you waiting. If you are staying in the Old Town, check whether your hotel is inside the walking zone, because cars cannot drive into it during restricted hours and the driver will drop you at the edge.
Hai Van Pass by car: tunnel or the pass?
Cars can take the Hai Van tunnel, which cuts the Hoi An – Hue drive but skips the view; motorbikes are not allowed in the tunnel at all. For a spontaneous Hoi An → Da Nang ride, the apps are transparent and cheap. For airport runs at 5 AM or long day trips, a pre-booked private company is more reliable — app coverage in Hoi An gets thin at dawn.
5. Traveling solo or as a couple? Compare with a bike
